CIGAR LOCKERS 

 Custom Creations prides ourselves  on building high quality, durable cigar lockers.  Our cigar lockers are built with spanish cedar interior "boxes" with 3/4" solid wood doors. 

Our lockers are precisley machined on our CNC and constructed with dowels and glue.  All fasteners are hidden to from the eye.  We pride ourselves in building furniture quality lockers, with regaurds to construction, stain and finish.

We have thousands of door styles available from louvered doors, solid raised panel, applied moldings and flat panels.

All cigar lockers come hinged using Salice Brand european style hinges. Locks are also included on all lockers.  Locks are keyed different with a master key.

All of our lockers come with a Custom Creations brand humidifier, manufactured in our facility.  We locate external humidity probes throughout the locker system to measure the "system humidity", not the humidity inside the locker where the unit resides like many other commercial units.

We offer 24 standard stain colors and can custom match stain colors to match your stores existing colors.

There has recently been a "Great Debate" as to what is the best wood to use for your cigar locker doors.  In our opinion, there is no right or wrong answer.  There are 100's of species of woods out there that can be used, but there are some better than others.  A few facts below will assist you in making your decision on what wood species is best for you. 

Wood hardness is measured by a scale called the Janka Scale.  Throughout the millwork and lumber industries this scale is used.  The higher the Janka Scale, the harder the wood.

Ask yourself a questions, Would you build your kitchen cabinets out of Yellow Pine?  Most people would say no, and the reason why is it is very soft with a Janka hardness of 690.  Could you use it?, absolutley, but woods with a low Janka rating are typically not used for millwork due to its low durabilty characteristics, meaning it dents and scratches easily.  You can put a fingernail mark in a piece of Yellow Pine very easily.

 We will manufacture any millwork piece, whether it is a cigar locker, cabinet, showcase ect. to our customers requests, but always try to provide them with the information needed to make an educated decision.

We reccomend to use woods with a Janka rating of 900 and above for Cigar Lockers. It allows the end user to enjoy their investment much longer without unsightly scratches and marks from hanging keys and general use by unforgiving customers.  Below are some of the most popular woods we use in our facility and their Janka Hardness.

The Janka hardness test measures the resistance of a sample of wood to denting and wear. It measures the force required to embed an 11.28mm (.444 in) steel ball into wood to half the ball's diameter. This method leaves an indentation.
